At Milkable we believe that any brand design project is incomplete without a brand style guide. The brand style guide is an extremely helpful tool to ensure that a brand is consistently portrayed in every area and at every touchpoint it engages with its customers and prospects.
Our approach to Brand Style guides is simple. We believe that a brand style guide needs to be small and concise for certain brands and large and very comprehensive for other brands.
A simple style guide for some client brands may simply cover technical details on the master logo of the brand identity, any secondary logos, mono logo treatment, colour palette, logo colour schemes, clear space, minimum size, typography, stationery for business cards, letterheads etc.
A comprehensive style guide may cover all of the above, plus many more elements of the brand identity including technical guidelines and specifications showing its use in email correspondence, print advertising, digital advertising, instore signage and marketing, vehicles and outdoor branding and websites to name just a few of the areas covered.
Each style guide is customised to suit the particular needs of the company and brand and its applications.
This style guide is then shared with the various stakeholders internally and externally including designers, architects, software designers, web designers, sign-writers etc.
The links below showcase a small range of examples of brand style guides.
